A lot has happened since the 2006 release of Jaurim's album Ashes to Ashes - at least for the group's lead vocalist Kim Yoon Ah. Coinciding with the group's sixth album release, Kim wrapped up her popular SBS musical program Music Wave and took a break in 2007. In addition to celebrating the tenth anniversary of her music career, she also celebrated the arrival of her first child after more than a year of marriage. Now, the mother of a baby boy, Kim returns along with bassist Kim Jin Man, guitarist Lee Seon Kyu, and drummer Koo Tae Hoon with Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond, the group's seventh release which offers the unique experience of listening to a musical. In a recent interview, Kim cited such musical films as Rocky Horror Picture Show and Memories of Matsuko as their muse throughout the making of the album. The principal track Carnival Amour features big band music that delightfully brings up images of a festive carnival. The song, which speaks of one's fear and reluctance of falling in love, is filled with the majestic orchestral sounds reminiscent of famous American composer George Gershwin.
